Ok, so I have fallen behind with my blogging responsibilities and the powers that be (Clifford) are (is) threatening to jump ahead of the blogging roster. To save myself this embarrassment - I have had to condense some of the trials and tribulations of the past while. I invite you to enjoy it with me...
This is a little morsel of surprise for you. I was hiding (hee hee) and The Big Red Dog thought I was at work. (hee hee)
OK...so on the 29th we went out and about with some pals, here in Hsinchu and Jhubei. The weather was cold and rainy so we did mostly indoor stuff. Here we are at a giant bowling alley, which proved to be quite eventfull. At the peak of excitement, we had a bowling ball bowled backwards (towards the spectators).
A delight of the afternoon was a visit to the temple on the mountain top (can't remember the name). The temple was big, but the real treat was the collection of statues and exhibits scattered around the garden. There were hundreds of random and miscellanious things to see. Dinosaur skeletons, buddhas, extinct animals, aardvarks, jade beds and above all HORSES! Our sightseeing party consisted of an American (Steve), two Auzzies (Steph and Tara) and Kelly (SA) along with cliff and myself.
I am not sure what it is, but our Australian counterparts took the the horse statue very warmly, and many a jolly moment was enjoyed touching, and petting this lovely metal horse. Below are some of the facebook comments (proof I am not making these warm feeling up...)

There is the troop again, shortly after the horse episode.
OK, so last week end Cliff and I headed up to Keelung on Saturday. Keelung is on the Northern end of Taiwan, and is one of the biggest ports in Taiwan.
We had some munchies in Burger King, memorable as it was here is Cliff doing a self photo with a burger.
It's Keelung! And it's happy!
Steps up the redish temple.
Considering the redish temple.
The redish temple.
Cliffs bad boy photo. Moments before he had been told specifically not to take any photos of the boat by a uniformed military type man. And so, I guess the obviuos thing to do next is...
Clothes shopping! RRrrrrrrrr!
Alrighty! Here we are in the present. TODAY we went on a little scooter trip to find the Cingyuan hotsprings.
The day was great. But finding the actual hotsprings did not go quite as planned. We didn't find the hotsprings. This was mostly due to a pesky road diversion. The yellow blob on the map indicated the point where the road is closed, forcing us onto some fun side roads.
But not to worry. We had a swell time exploring the mountains on our steady scooter stead, and munching a melon for lunch.
